There are those of you who would say that $9.95 per person for brunch is not exactly cheap eats. To this we say, “Come on, man, once you pay for your $7.95 omelet and your coffees and juices at regular breakfast joints, you’ve already paid more for your meal than we paid for our recent brunch at Kelsey’s.” Kelsey’s is a little way outside the city, down the Baltimore National Pike, but the location means it’s rarely as crowded as most of our favorite downtown brunch spots. It serves a surprisingly varied brunch buffet that includes all the breakfast staples like pancakes, French toast, bacon, home fries, muffins, and fruit salads, plus a made-to-order omelet station, breakfast burritos, loaded potato skins, sausage and peppers, and the best link sausage we’ve tasted on a buffet ever. And oysters. Lots and lots of oysters, served up raw-bar style on the half shell with lemon and hot sauce. For that alone, we think $9.95 is a total bargain.
