Two little boys, Chin Bo and Junbao, train to be Shaolin monks, whacking each other with brooms in their free moments. A quick swoop of the camera by director-choreographer Yuen Woo-ping (Drunken Master, Iron Monkey), and Junbao, the well-behaved one, has grown up to be Jet Li. Chin Bo (Chin Siu-hou), the brash one, gets them both expelled from the temple by turning a kung-fu tournament into a mass brawl--the first of ever so many mass brawls to come.
