All-purpose director Bob Clark (Porky’s, A Christmas Story, Baby Geniuses) again exploits wee ones for fun and profit, except there’s hardly any baby action in this picture, and actually, the babies are sorta old, so they’re kinda cute, but not as cute as little babies. Anyway, Scott Baio (The Bread, My Sweet, television’s Charles in Charge) gets to cash a paycheck and Jon Voight (The Manchurian Candidate, Heat, Midnight Cowboy) hams it up and chews on scenery (the usual, right?) as a kooky sort of WWII Nazi bad guy who wants to control the minds of all the children on Earth via television, but that’s already been done for real, right? And next time, when you give the jive-talking African-American baby a superpower, could it maybe not be something sports related? Same goes for the girl baby—jeez, the ability to make people fall in love? What a crappy power, even for a dumb baby. How about giving her the ability to edit an almost two-hour movie down to something that will keep us from wanting our bottle and a nap?
