The legendary British comedy troupe’s second—and arguably its best—feature film (1975) deconstructs the myth of King Arthur and his not-so-brave knights (originators of the battle cry, “Run away! Run away!”). In their meandering comic quest for the grail, the King of the Britons (the late Graham Chapman) and his entourage encounter surly subjects (“Well, I didn’t vote for ya”), bratty French guards, the dreaded Knights Who Say “Ni,” a killer rabbit, lusty maidens, and a rather cranky Almighty—who just hates all that groveling.
