A Great Day Denied

By Charles Cohen | Posted 2/14/2007

Ah, The Colts were in town and we were about to wreck their little Superbowl Party.

What will undoubtedly go down as one of the top five losses in Baltimore sports history started out as a morning of not just high expectations, but with a kind of steely confidence. But even a 13-3 record rarely produces an easy win. Ravens lose to the Colts 15 to 6.

By the way, the top five loses were:

  1. Superbowl III, Colts vs. the New York Jets, 1969,
  2. 1979 World Series against the Pittsburgh Pirates,
  3. 2007 playoff game against the Colts,
  4. 1969 World Series, Orioles against the New York Mets 1969, and
  5. The 1977 Baltimore Colts playoff loss against the Oakland Raiders.
