Monday, June 6

1:26 a.m. Baltimore police officers received a call for a shooting in the 4900 block of Queensberry Lane in Central Park Heights. When they arrived they found Kevin Dozier, a 19-year-old African-American man, who had been shot repeatedly in the torso. There was a 20-yard blood trail leading to his body. Dozier was taken to Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead 15 minutes later.

 

Tuesday, June 7

12:46 p.m. Police officers found Bobby Anderson, a 35-year-old African-American man, lying on the floor inside a building in the 5400 block of Park Heights Avenue near Pimlico. He had been shot in the head. Anderson was taken to Sinai and listed in critical condition, but he died at 11:15 p.m. the next day.

2:25 p.m. Damon Holmes, a 28-year-old African-American man, was on the phone making arrangements to go to the mall with a friend. He told her he was on his way over. As she was getting ready, Holmes’ friend heard gunshots. When she went outside she found Holmes lying on the ground. He had been shot several times in the torso in the 2700 block of Beryl Avenue in East Baltimore’s Biddle Street neighborhood. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and immediately went into surgery. He survived the operation but was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m.

5 p.m. A few hours later in Northwest Baltimore, Mustafa Aleem, a 21-year-old African-American man, was found lying on the ground shot in the head in the 2100 block of Walbrook Avenue near Mondawmin Mall. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m.

11:37 p.m. On the other side of Druid Hill Park, Lawrence Johnson, a 44-year-old African-American man, was sitting on a porch in the 3800 block of Roland View Avenue in Park Circle with two other people when several men approached and opened fire, hitting all three of them. All three ran inside the house. Two survived, but Johnson, who was shot in the chest, was pronounced dead at Sinai at 12:05 a.m. the next day.

 

Wednesday, June 8

3:04 p.m. Antonio Fox, a 20-year-old African-American man, was found lying on the ground in the 900 block of North Chester Street in Middle East. He had been shot in the stomach. He was taken to Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead three and a half hours later. Fox was the 76th African-American man shot to death this year.

 

Thursday, June 9

6:45 a.m. Michael Grimes, a 27-year-old African-American man, was found lying in the grass in the 500 block of East 27th Street. He had cuts on his forehead and several puncture wounds to the body. Police officers believe Grimes was homeless. He was pronounced dead on the scene. This is the third homicide in Better Waverly this year. All three occurred in the last six weeks.
