Tuesday, June 14

1:20 a.m. Antoine Williams, a 25-year-old African-American man, was sitting on a porch near his home in the 600 block of North Potomac Street in East Baltimore’s Ellwood Park/Monument neighborhood. An unknown person came out of a nearby alley and started shooting at him. Williams tried to run but collapsed in front of a house. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:50 a.m. This is the sixth homicide in that neighborhood this year. Ellwood Park/Monument is approximately five blocks square.

Thursday, June 16

4:35 a.m. Jerry Evans, a 23-year-old African-American man, was in the 1100 block of McAleer Court in Oldtown when a man walked up to him and started shooting. Evans was hit in the head and body and taken to Hopkins Hospital in cardiac arrest. Doctors there could not revive him.

Friday, June 17

12:13 a.m. Baltimore police officers got a call for a shooting in the rear of the 2000 block of Belair Road near Clifton Park. When they got there they found Anthony Boyce, a 19-year-old African-American man. He had been shot. He was taken to Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead half an hour later.

Saturday, June 18

12:41 a.m. Twelve hours later, Troy Barnett, a 30-year-old African-American man, was found lying on his own kitchen floor shot in the 1500 block of Holbrook Street in Oliver near the Greenmount Cemetery. He was taken to Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after he arrived. This is the fourth homicide in Oliver this year and the second in the last 30 days.

5:08 p.m. Rodney Dickerson, a 42-year-old African-American man, was in the dining area at Mount Vernon Place Methodist Church, at the corner of Mount Vernon Place and Charles Street by the Washington Monument, when he got into an argument with another man at a dinner for the homeless. The fight got physical and the man pulled out a knife and stabbed Dickerson once in the chest and fled. Dickerson was taken to Hopkins Hospital and was pronounced dead at 5:56 p.m. The stabbing occurred just three blocks from where hundreds of people were celebrating at Baltimore’s Gay Pride block party. This is the second homicide in Mount Vernon this year.

Sunday, June 19

10:43 p.m. An unknown man was found shot in the head at the tennis court in Hanlon Park in the 2700 block of North Longwood Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
