Released from Jail Bail.—Mr. William Baker, member of the second branch city council, charged with five forgeries and setting fire to his fruit store, was released from jail yesterday; on $6,000 bail to answer the charges at court. ... Wm. Baker is still a member of the city council for the 15th and 16th wards, his resignation not having been accepted when offered, but held over to await the trial, when, if convicted, he would be expelled.
