The Norwegian government has tightened oversight over the slaughter of sheep after an increase in radioactivity found in herds in the upland part of the country. Itís believed the sheep ate mushrooms contaminated with fallout from the Chernobyl disaster that happened 20 years ago; mushrooms absorb radiation more easily than other fodder, and unusually wet weather led to a bumper crop of radioactive fungi. British member of Parliament Colin Challen has begun a drive to compel car manufacturers to list carsí emissions information prominently in all advertising. (BBC)

The German newspaper Bild recently printed several photographs of German troops stationed in Afghanistan posing with a human skull; one soldier was shown holding the skull and exposing his penis. The German parliament has condemned the abuse depicted. (IndiaeNews.com)
