The man shot to death on Jan. 20 near police headquarters has been identified as Milan Walker, a 30-year-old African-American man from Central Park Heights.

Police recently closed a homicide from 2006. On Jan. 17, Kenneth Lathan, an 18-year-old African-American male, and Jamal Lloyd, a 23-year-old African-American male, were both being held at Central Booking on unrelated charges. They were both charged with the Nov. 21 murder of Tereem Taylor.

Monday, Jan. 22

7:52 p.m. David Thomas, a 31-year-old African-American man from Woodlawn, was found lying in the street in the 3100 block of Brighton Street. He had been shot numerous times throughout his body and died at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center at 8:37 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 23

8:08 p.m. Ronald Lewis, a 34-year-old African-American man, got into an argument with several people in the 500 block of West Preston Street in Upton near State Center. One of the people Lewis was arguing with pulled out a gun and started shooting, hitting Lewis in the back. Lewis died at Shock Trauma less than an hour later. Lewis, who lived two blocks from where he was shot, is the third person from Upton to be murdered this year.

10:30 p.m. Later that night, Tio Floyd, a 24-year-old African-American man, was shot in the head in the 1700 block of East Biddle Street. He died at Johns Hopkins Hospital an hour later.

Wednesday, Jan. 24

8:30 a.m. Police got a call for a shooting at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Bloom Street in Madison Park and found an African-American man shot there. The man died at Shock Trauma at 10:05 a.m. Police have not yet released his name.

Friday, Jan. 26

8:12 p.m. Vernon Dredden, a 33-year-old African-American man, was walking with a friend in the 1800 block of North Chester Street when a man approached him and began shooting, hitting Dredden repeatedly. Dredden died at Hopkins Hospital just before 9 p.m. His friend wasnít hit. Dredden is the third person to be murdered in Broadway East this year.

Saturday, Jan. 27

8:30 p.m. Kevin Fowlin, a 24-year-old African-American man, was headed to a friendís house in the 3900 block of West Rogers Avenue. When he was about 25 feet from his friendís front yard, two men came up to him. One pulled out a gun and told Fowlin to put his hands in the air and then shot Fowlin in the chest as he was trying to comply. The two men then rifled through Fowlinís pockets, scattering his belongings. Fowlin staggered to his friendís yard and then collapsed. The two men ran away and Fowlin was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he died at 10:13 p.m. This is at least the third fatal robbery this year.
