The Nose

Open Bar

Jefferson Jackson Steele

Posted 6/11/2008

Nasty rumors are flying--we've heard them, too--that the venerable and disreputable Leon's, the oldest continuously open gay bar in Baltimore, may be closing its doors. Well, the Nose has confirmed that this is simply not true. Happy hour at Leon's will continue, along with Mustard Mondays (we hope).

Owner Bob Davies was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, but he is responding well to treatment, employees say. Aside from the fact that the bar is opening a bit later in the morning lately, and a fresh coat of paint on the walls, it's business as usual at Leon's.
