Tuesday, March 31

4:48 p.m. Three men were in a car in the 1500 block of West Fayette Street in Franklin Square when another car pulled up. Someone in the second car had a gun and fired into the car the three men were sitting in. All three were shot. A 19-year-old African-American man and a 21-year-old African-American man survived. David Williams, a 20-year-old African-American man, died at an area hospital at 5:20 p.m.

Wednesday, April 1

12:58 a.m. Darrel Lee, a 19-year-old African-American male, was shot at least four times in the head and body in the 2900 block of Allendale Road near Lake Ashburton. He died at a local hospital less than an hour later.

3:07 p.m. That afternoon, Derrick Franklin, a 28-year-old African-American man, was discovered lying on the basement floor of a house in the 3800 block of Lyndale Avenue in Belair-Edison. He had been shot in the head and was dead.

11:48 p.m. That night, Dewayne Booker, a 20-year-old African-American man, was shot repeatedly in the head and body in the 1300 block of Bonaparte Avenue just off Harford Road. He died at an area hospital less than an hour later.

Friday, April 3

2:13 a.m. Police found Zachary Thompson, a 48-year-old African-American man, lying in the doorway of a house in the 400 block of Watty Court near the State Center complex. He had been stabbed numerous times in the back and died at a local hospital at 2:39 a.m.

Saturday, April 4

12:57 a.m. Timothy Hebron, a 23-year-old African-American man, was in a car with a friend in the 4200 block of Welbourne Road by Morgan State University. Hebron got out of the car and was unloading some items, when someone ran up, shot him in the head, and ran away. Hebron died at an area hospital an hour later. Hebron is the 39th person under the age of 30 murdered this year, a demographic that makes up 65 percent of all of 2009's homicide victims.

Sunday, April 5

4:06 a.m. Police were called to a home in the 4700 block of Homesdale Avenue by Herring Run park for a shooting. Inside the house, Curtis Pounds, a 31-year-old African-American man, was lying on the floor shot. His brother, Curtis Warren, a 36-year-old African-American man, was also there. Pounds died at a local hospital at 5:01 a.m. Warren, who police believe was the shooter, was arrested and charged with his brother's murder.

4:34 p.m. On Sunday afternoon, Doreatha Wright, a 42-year-old African-American woman, was found sitting in a car in the 1600 block of Gough Street in Fells Point. Wright, who lived in the neighborhood, had been shot in the neck and upper body and died at an area hospital at 5:16 p.m. Wright is the fifth woman murdered this year, the second in two weeks.

Updates

Three more people have been arrested for the murder of Petro Taylor: Devin Melton, a 17-year-old African-American male, Lawrence Walker, a 19-year-old African-American man, and Dominique Boone, a 17-year-old African-American male. A total of eight people--six of them teenagers--have been charged with the murder so far. Taylor was beaten, stabbed, and set on fire. His body was found in Leakin Park on Dec. 30, 2008.

Sean Thomas, a 21-year-old African-American man, was indicted by the Baltimore City Grand Jury on March 30 for the murder of Bryant Eldridge, a 20-year-old African-American man. Eldridge was shot to death on Jan. 9 in the 3600 block of East Lombard Street.

Kevin Armstead, a 26-year-old African-American man, was found guilty on April 2 of the murder of Ricardo Paige, 54-year-old African-American man. Armstead was sentenced to life plus 30 years in prison. Paige was shot six times, including once in the mouth, on March 20, 2007, because Armstead and his codefendants believed that Paige, a handyman, had called the police on them, leading to a raid of their stash house. Trendon Washington, a 21-year-old African-American man, and Jamal Fulton, a 22-year-old African-American man, were also charged with Paige's murder. In December, Fulton pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, Washington was found guilty of the same charge in January. Neither one has been sentenced yet.

Herlinda Rodulfo, a 25-year-old Hispanic woman, was convicted of voluntary manslaughter on April 3 for the death of Valerie Barnes, an 18-year-old African-American woman. Barnes was fatally shot in a house in the 800 block of Pontiac Avenue in Brooklyn on May 17, 2008. Rudulfo was sentenced to 10 years in prison, only five of which are without the possibility of parole.
