Monday, Aug. 10

5:40 a.m. Thomas Medley, a 32-year-old African-American man, left his home in the 200 block of Herring Court just outside of the Fells Point neighborhood. He was with a group of people. Someone approached and shot him several times. Medley tried to run, but collapsed in the block. None of the people he was with were shot. A police officer around the corner heard the gunshots and responded to the scene, which was in the Perkins Homes public-housing complex. Medley was taken to a nearby hospital, but died about 15 minutes later.
