According to the police, the murder rate in Baltimore is down 33 percent compared to 2009--a year in which the homicide rate dropped to the lowest it's been in decades.

12:08 a.m. Antonio Wilson, a 28-year-old African-American man, died at a city hospital. Wilson was found at 11:35 p.m. the night before. He was sitting in the driver's seat of a van on North Calverton Road near Wheeler Avenue. There were bullet holes on both sides of the car. Wilson had been shot numerous times.
1:25 p.m. Later that day, police were sent to a parking lot inside Leakin Park for a shooting. There they found Michael Thomas, a 27-year-old African-American man, who had been shot in the head and was dead.
Updates
On March 30, Terrell Meadows, a 21-year-old African-American man, was indicted by a Baltimore City Grand Jury for murder. Meadows was charged with the Nov. 15, 2009, murder of Antonio Smith, an 18-year-old African-American man.
Montez Faidley, a 24-year-old African-American man, was also indicted on March 30 for the Jan. 25 murder of Michael Manning, a 35-year-old African-American man.
Larry Douglas Jr., a 20-year-old African-American man, was arrested on March 30 for the murder of Darren Green, a 24-year-old African-American man. Green was stabbed to death in the 1500 block of Montpelier Street near Baltimore City College on Oct. 25, 2009.
