Two people were arrested for the July 25 murder of Stephen Pitcairn, a 23-year-old Caucasian man. John Wagner, a 34-year-old African-American man, and his wife Levelva Wagner, a 24-year-old African-American woman, were both arrested on July 27. They lived in the 2600 block of Maryland Avenue, just two blocks from where the robbery and murder occurred.
A murder from last week was added to the homicide roll on July 29. Steven Harris, a 38-year-old African-American man, was found dead behind a house in the 4200 block of Pimlico Road in Central Park Heights on July 22 at 7:05 a.m. The cause of death was ruled blunt force trauma this week.
Tuesday, July 27
12:01 a.m. Corey Sims, a 19-year-old African-American man, was sitting on the steps of a house with a group of people in the 5100 block of Harford Road. A number of people approached Sims and his friends, and the two groups began fighting. During the melee, Sims was stabbed in the torso. He died at a local hospital at 12:34 a.m. A 17-year-old African-American male has been arrested for the murder, but police have declined to release his name because he is a minor.
4:05 a.m. Later that morning, an adult male was found lying in a parking lot in the 5100 block of Williston Street in Beechfield, in the southwest corner of the city. The man was shot in the head and neck and was dead. Police are waiting until his family has been notified of his murder to release his name.
Thursday, July 29
12:35 a.m. An officer was on routine patrol when he heard gunshots coming from the 200 block of East Lafayette Avenue, in the Station North Arts District. Emmanuel Thomas, a 21-year-old African-American man, was slumped over on a chair. He had been shot in the head and died that day. Another man was murdered in the 300 block of East Lafayette Avenue four days earlier.
Friday, July 30
12:10 a.m. Shawn Crawford, a 36-year-old African-American man, was shot in the head in the 5200 block of Florence Avenue near Pimlico Race Course. He died at a nearby hospital less than an hour later.
8:30 a.m. Milton Hill, a 70-year-old African-American man, was discovered lying in an alley off the 1200 block of East North Avenue. He had been shot in the head and was dead. Police believe Hill, who lived in the block, was shot during a robbery.
Sunday, Aug. 1
7:36 p.m. Dionndra Dugger, a 20-year-old African-American woman, was shot in her home in the 2600 block of Quantico Avenue. She died at a local hospital a half hour later. This is the second week in a row there have been as many homicide victims in Baltimore City as days in the week.
