Tuesday, Feb. 8

4:20 a.m. Baltimore Police officers received a call for a shooting at Edmondson Avenue and Rosedale Street in West Baltimoreís Franklintown Road neighborhood. While they were searching the area they found Larry Jackson, a 38-year-old African-American man from Edmondson Village, lying in the street in the 900 block of Ellicott Driveway near Gwynns Falls Park. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene less than 15 minutes later.

Wednesday, Feb. 9

7:52 p.m. Police officers found George Blische Jr., a 25-year-old Caucasian man, in the 3000 block of East Fayette Street. Blische had been shot in the lower back. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and rushed to surgery to repair his liver, but he died at 1:40 a.m. the next day. Blische is the sixth white man to be murdered this year. In 2004, 15 white men were murdered during the entire year.

10:04 p.m. About two hours later and about eight blocks away, Antonio Wright, an 18-year-old African-American man, was standing with another man in the 100 block of South Conkling Street in the Baltimore Highlands neighborhood when a man carrying a flower basket starting shooting at them. Wright was pronounced dead at Hopkins Hospital half an hour later. The other man was shot in the face, but was treated and released from Hopkins.

Thursday, Feb. 10

6:56 p.m. Barbara Ray, a 52-year-old African-American woman, was talking to a man in front of her home in the 2600 block of Robb Street in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood. According to police, her husband Leroy Ray, a 68-year-old African-American man, saw them talking and started arguing with his wife about the man being there. Leroy Ray then pulled out a gun and shot his wife in the head and the man in the neck. Barbara Ray was taken to Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead about 15 minutes later. The other man survived. Leroy Ray has been arrested for the crime. This is the second homicide in that Northeast Baltimore neighborhood this month.

10:39 p.m. A few hours later, in Northwest Baltimore, police found Kevin Butcher, a 39-year-old African-American man, slumped over the driverís seat of a burgundy car in the 3200 block of Chelsea Terrace. He had been shot in the head and neck. He was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 p.m.
