J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake, 1-5 p.m. July 17, Somers Cove Island, Crisfield, (800) 782-3913, $30. The menu at this annual all-you-can-eat gorgeathon has crabs and clams plus fish and chips, onion rings, corn on the cob, watermelon, cold drinks, and politicians on the hoof.

National Hard Crab Derby, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, Crisfield, (800) 782-3913, $2-$4. Seems like all they do in Somerset County is eat crustaceans. And what's wrong with that? This yearly fest also includes boat races, a swim meet, beauty pageants, rides, entertainment, and food without claws.
