National Capital Trolley Museum, 1313 Bonifant Road, Silver Spring, (301) 384-6088. Trolley rides, exhibits, and displays tell the story of streetcars in our nation's capital.

EVENTS

Hometown Holidays, May 27-29, Rockville Town Center, (301) 309-3330. This festival features national recording artists, carnival rides, a laser-light and fireworks show, and a Memorial Day parade.

Ethnic Heritage Festival and Taste of Silver Spring, noon-6 p.m. June 25, Jessup Blair Park, Silver Spring, (240) 777-6820, (301) 565-7300. Celebrate the international diversity of Montgomery County with music, dance, and other performances on three stages.

Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. Aug. 11-19, Gaithersburg, (301) 926-3100, www.mcagfair. com. Maryland's largest county holds its annual fair, featuring exhibits, demonstrations, entertainment, food, and carnival games and rides.

Washington Irish Festival, Sept. 2-3, Montgomery County Agricultural Center, Gaithersburg, (301) 565-0654, ext. 15. Traditional Irish music, dance, and song on six stages, along with crafts and food.

SPORTS & RECREATION

Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Road, (301) 924-2127. This 90-acre park includes a lake, disc golf course, historic mill, and old schoolhouse.
