Chesapeake Bay "Asthma Ride" Bike Tour, June 4-6, Eastern Shore, Salisbury University, (410) 560-2120, ext. 226. This is the grown-up, goal-oriented version of the carefree childhood tear around the neighborhood and through the woods. A 100-mile "Century Ride" to the Assateague Island beach and back, with 40- and 62.5-mile routes also available.

This Orioles minor-league team plays all summer long, and though the stadium and the experience of a major league game won't be present, you can get that warm feeling that the players on this team and others in their league aren't highly paid athletes, they're just baseball players who love the game.
