Best TV News anchor

Adam May

Posted 9/19/2007

WJZ-TV'S Adam May, a Channel 13 asset since 2003, is a more than competent field reporter, with the awards to show for it. But he's especially impressive behind the weekend anchor desk. This is what his unique-around-here, shooting-the-shit-over-Belgian-beers-on-the-patio conversational delivery style conveys: "OK, Baltimore, I know what I'm talking about right here because I'm seriously kind of a news junkie and college educated, and I'm not going to act like I'm not--I may even have known about this next story before someone handed it to me a minute ago. And it's not like all of you out there are stupid, it's just that you've been busy doing other things while we here at 'JZ have been gathering news because that's our job. So watch this next story, and then we'll all know about it. This next one is actually interesting." That's how we're hearing it anyway, and nonplasticy blond good looks and a calm Minneapolis demeanor aren't hurting him--or us--any either.
